Home Office For The Creative Mind
So you need to decorate a home office for a creative person, maybe they are a writer or artist. You will probably find that they need a desk, maybe some book cases and a file cabinet if they are a writer. If they are an artist they will probably need some easels with extra canvas and a place to store them. The different options for these types of creative people will vary. But the object is to make the room so the creative juices keep flowing.
Writers will spend many hours of the day just sitting in their office coming up with ideas for their next articles or books which they write. If you write specific books such as fiction you may want to design your room around this theme. It will keep your mind racing with new ideas for your stories. There is always one theme out there which you would love to have in your office and it will keep your juices flowing to your finger tips.
For a painter or an artist, you may want to consider splashing the walls with paint splatters in all colors, several easels and of course extra canvas for their masterpieces. A Drawing desk with pastel pencils and charcoal pencils will also be some items needed as for as supplies, but the main idea is to get their creative juices flowing.
As you see in the movies, many of the big writers use large arm chairs to relax in and think. Why not bring this into your space? It will be a great relaxation spot to kick your feet up and get your mind pumping. Area rugs are another great way to bring color and texture into a rooms design. It doesn’t necessarily have to be used on the floor. You can in fact use them as art on the wall. This would work great for something which you’ve been scared to place on the floor because you didn’t want to ruin it.
A writer’s home office for their creations could also be turned completely temporary with a space age computer desk that is compacted but well formed with slide in drawers or shelves for space saving. You might even want to cork a wall so that they can write their ideas on index cards and place them on the wall so they can form their story lines.
A painter may decide to use a cork wall to hang up pictures so that they can be recreated on canvas. A painter may also want light airy curtains with French doors that open out into nature so that they can paint on the veranda or just observe nature as it happens. No matter what type of creative mind is behind the office, you can accent with rugs on the floor or as tapestries and give any room, a touch of class.
