I'm always looking for easy and economical recipes to feed my family. This time of year, I make good use of my crockpot (slow-cooker). It's great to have dinner ready to serve when you get home from a long day at work, or all of those activities you've been driving the kids to.
Here is a hearty beef stew recipe that my family loves. If you want you can serve rice on the side, with a tossed salad and fruit for dessert. It's an easy and low cost recipe that is just delicious, too.
Crockpot Beef Stew Recipe
Crockpot Traditional Beef Stew
2 pounds lean chuck roast, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 envelope Lipton's dry onion soup mix
2 jars mushroom gravy (about 3 cups)
6 small potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
6 carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch slices
1 carton fresh mushrooms, cleaned and quartered
Put the beef cubes in the bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle with pepper and the onion soup mix. Add gravy. Layer the vegetables, potatoes first, then carrots, and finish with mushrooms on top. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours.
Serves 6 to 8.

Bathroom remodeling requires lot of careful planning and attention to details by choosing the right kind of fixtures and accessories that meet your personal needs. Many times, people spend lots of money on designing a bathroom and later find that they lack the required functionality to get the best benefits. Now it is possible to have a good bathroom decor within your budget and also have your own private space, which is comfortable and can give you the best advantage. You can plan a good decor by even consulting a qualified designer who can help you to transform your bathroom on a budget and make it look more attractive and appealing.
The first thing to remember while designing a bathroom decor is to have the right kind of flooring. If you are using your bathroom for the purpose of a laundry, then these wet areas require greater care and attention. Ceramic tiles can be a good option as they can be cleaned easily and they can be repaired in case of any damage. These tiles are available in different colors and varieties, which can be used for your bathroom flooring. Besides, they work out to be cheaper and affordable as well. Marble flooring can be expensive and at the same time risky as they have higher chances of slipping.
The bathroom floor material is dependent on the functions you’ve allotted to your bathroom space. If for instance you do some laundry, the floor should be able to take in the moist, water and suds. Ceramic tiles is a good option as it can be easily cleaned. The high-traffic factor of bathrooms will also have a favorable effect for ceramic tiles as this type of flooring can be repaired in a snap in case of damage. If you’re overly concerned about slipping accidents, don’t use marble flooring.
For practicality reasons, many toilets are now the mounted kind. This makes cleaning easier. Furthermore, just like with bathtubs, there are also various designs for toilets. You can also change the material if you wish. If you can’t use marble for the floors, then perhaps you might want to consider having a marble toilet. The sink can also be redecorated with a new material wherein choices vary from glass and porcelain to granite and marble.
Bathroom rugs are equally important elements of any decor, which need to be chosen with great care and they need to be water absorbent. Cotton rugs in different shapes and designs are the best suited for this purpose. There are other kinds of modern rugs, which are available made using different materials and can be good for absorbing water when used in the wet areas. Bathroom storage space is also a vital consideration while using cabinets in the form of closets and toilet shelves, which are more suitable for small bathrooms.
If you found this information about Interior Design helpful, then you are bound to adore these round outdoor rugs.

Home decorating may come off as vain and an utter waste of money especially at this time when the economic crisis is at its full swing. Some might argue that money is better saved or spent in more vital matters such as food and bills. Of course that is true. Who can afford to be extravagant at this time when stocks are crashing and companies are struggling? However, decorating your home need not be expensive at all! Contrary to the misconception that home renovation requires bags of money, it can be way cheaper. A little money, some research and lots of ingenuity is all you need. Find out more…
Look for Second Hand Furniture – Second hand furniture can be fixed up or covered. Look for furniture that is cheap but has potential. If you like to paint, you can paint a second hand table and chairs and even cover them with upholstery or cushions. Second hand furniture can be sanded, primed and painted even if it is laminated. Plenty of people sell furniture due to divorce, moving or just because they no longer like it. Look for second hand furniture and use it in a fresh new way in your home.
Use second-hand furniture – with good eyes and patience, you can find a good deal from flea markets and second-hand stores. You can redo the furniture by repainting, changing the cover, updating the cushions or using new upholstery. Although you will spend for fixing, you will still save a lot more compared to buying brand new furniture.
Re-paint your walls – painting is one of the easiest and affordable tasks for home improvement. All you need are cans of your chosen paint and some brushes. A new room color will transform your home into a brand new place. Colors convey meanings, so choose colors that express your personality or those that reflect your desired mood. If you don’t wish to stick to a theme, you can paint different colors in every room.
Include decorative painting – this is a painting method to beautify the walls of the room. If you want to upgrade your walls, you can add decorative paint, either on your old wall or newly painted one. It’s very easy to learn and so much fun to do. Stamps and stencils are the most common decorative methods and can be used too on furniture, area rugs and tile floors. There are kits and videos with instructions on how to stencil or stamp, and with some practice on a poster board, you’ll be ready for the real thing.
A creative tip is to add decorative painting. It will make your home more vibrant and original. Not very many apply stencils, sponge and stamps on their walls, which are types of decorative paint. It doesn’t cost much and is easily learned.
Add decorative items – a room may be simple but with some pretty items around, it can look charming and nice. Scented candles, photographs, flowers and plants and perhaps even your children’s artworks from school make great decorations. You don’t need to buy antiques and other expensive stuff. There is beauty in simplicity. Just place them in the right spots and your home will look beautiful than ever.
Add to the list of cheap decorating ideas are throw pillows. They are very affordable and like area rugs also come in different sizes, shapes, texture and colors. Depending on the fabric of the pillow cover, your budget can range from quite pricey to super cheap. Throw pillows look nice stylishly placed on a couch or chairs, and scattered on the floor. They can even be partners with your area rugs as floor decors.
Home decorating doesn’t have to stop indoors just because saving money is more important than spending. Include your outdoor areas such as the patio, deck or backyard and apply the same cheap decorating techniques you have for your interiors. Area rugs, throw pillows and second-hand furniture will work outdoors too
Improving or changing how our house looks can be cheap, easy and fun! Be open to ideas, be creative and resourceful and don’t be embarrassed to use second-hand stuff or low-priced materials. It’s all about your decorating strategy. You know what they say about fashion – it’s not the clothes, it’s who wears the clothes.
Interior Decorating has never been so easy with these solid color rugs.
